The Little Match Girl reviews:

***** "A haunting soundtrack" Luke Jennings in The Observer, 22 Dec 2013

"An original score, played live by composer Frank Moon, morphed from sound effect to narrative detail to character extension in absolute harmony with the action on stage. Whilst never overshadowing the movement, the music was a significant part of Match Girl‘s deliciously enchanting appeal. Its overall effect was far more than that of a score, a term which in this case is insufficient; this was soundscape, an audio character which added perception and much colour to the production. The excoriating violin strokes which accompanied the ignition of the Match Girl’s remaining matches, and which effectively condemned her to death, were visceral, the looping opening overture mesmeric, and there was a Theremin!" Steve Hawthorne, InSuffolk, Dec 2013
